(American activist for children’s rights)Constitution Day, also called Citizenship Day, is a U.S. federal observance of the creation and adoption of the Constitution and all people who have become citizens, by either birth or naturalization.
September 17 was selected for the celebration because the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the United Stated Constitution and present it to the American people on September 17, 1787.
All institutions that receive federal funds are required to provide educational programs relating to the United States Constitution on September 17.
